Inside the Internship - Week 8
Meet Elaine Pomeroy
This internship has offered me and all the interns the opportunity to make meaningful connections, receive personalized mentorship, and grow both professionally and personally. The hands-on exposure they gain helps prepare them to serve the needs of our customers and communities more effectively in the future.
This summer, I had the pleasure of meeting Elaine Pomeroy, a bright and driven intern working in the Agricultural Lending department at our Princeton location. Elaine is currently pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business at Texas A&M University and has a strong interest in Ag lending as a future career path.

During her internship, Elaine had the opportunity to work closely with Ross Key, gaining real-world experience in various aspects of Ag lending — from farm real estate and equipment loans to operating loans. Through these experiences, she developed a deeper understanding of the financial solutions that support local farmers and agri-businesses.
Elaine also spent time shadowing other departments, where she discovered just how much goes on behind the scenes — including in personal banking. This cross-training gave her a broader appreciation for the full spectrum of services we offer and reinforced the importance of personalized customer service in every interaction.
One of Elaine’s favorite parts of the internship was seeing firsthand the strong relationships formed between our staff and customers. She saw how Springs Valley goes beyond just lending — by investing in people, understanding their stories, and building trust that lasts far beyond a single transaction.
This internship has been invaluable not only for Elaine but for all of us involved. It demonstrates how our commitment to developing future leaders directly contributes to better service for our customers. Whether you're a community member, a small business owner, or a long-time client, we’re investing in the future so that we can serve you better today and for years to come.
