Inside the Internship - Week 7
Meet Dylan Coleman
One of the best parts of my internship at Springs Valley Bank has been the chance to collaborate, make connections, and learn from the people around me. One person I’ve especially enjoyed working with is Dylan Coleman, a fellow summer intern and Business Finance major at Western Kentucky University.
From the start, Dylan showed a genuine interest in understanding how a community bank like Springs Valley supports the people it serves. What drew him here was our reputation for being deeply involved in the local community—a value that aligns with his own goals and beliefs.
During his time here, Dylan has rotated through nearly every department—lending, operations, investments, and compliance—gaining a well-rounded view of how different teams work together to guide customers through their financial journeys.
One of the most impactful parts of his experience, he shared, was sitting in on meetings and seeing how decisions are made with customers in mind. Whether it was problem-solving, discussing local needs, or planning for the future, Dylan saw firsthand how much thought and care goes into serving the people who trust us with their financial well-being.
He also valued the chance to work on real projects that help the bank grow and adapt—all with the goal of continuing to meet the needs of our communities. Dylan’s eagerness to ask thoughtful questions and engage in meaningful conversations has been inspiring. He often mentioned how much he’s learned just by being in the room, listening, and observing how leadership navigates both challenges and opportunities.
By the end of the summer, Dylan is walking away with not just industry knowledge, but also a deeper understanding of what it means to be part of a bank that truly puts people first. Springs Valley’s commitment to its employees, customers, and communities has left a lasting impression on both of us—something we’ll carry with us through college and into our future careers.
