Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company has long been committed to the belief that service is the only product we have to sell. If it were not for the support and dedication of those who comprise the communities we serve, Springs Valley would cease to exist. To those communities who have made us what we are, we express our thanks and dedication.

It is likewise our belief that Realtor and Springs Valley is part of the nucleus of a community and must be prepared to exhibit foresight, support and leadership to those we serve.

Springs Valley believes these needs can be met, consistent with safe and sound operations by:

1. ongoing education and motivation of our directors, officers, and employees;
2. being an active participant in our community through clubs, civic organizations, religious groups, etc. (groups which are comprised of all economic levels) as well as individual contacts to ascertain public and private needs;
3. periodically reviewing products offered to assure a proper mix is available to meet the needs of all customers.

Community Reinvestment Act

In 1977, the United States Congress enacted the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) to encourage banks to help meet the credit needs of the entire communities, including low-and moderate-income neighborhoods, consistent with safe and sound leading practices.

1. Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company is required by law to demonstrate that their deposit facilities serve the convenience and needs of the communities in which they do business;
2. The convenience and needs of communities include the need for credit lending as well as deposit services; and
3. Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company has continuing and affirmative obligations to help meet the lending needs of the local communities in which they are chartered.

The CRA has come to play an increasingly important role in improving access to credit in communities, both rural and urban, across the country. Under the impetus of the CRA, many banks opened new banking centers, provided expanded products and services, and made substantial commitments to increase lending to all segments of society.

In an effort to increase Springs Valley’s CRA presence, we have introduced various group meetings and presentations in the local communities. Most recently, Springs Valley joined CRA Partners and is helping vulnerable seniors by funding the Senior Crimestoppers program to protect those who live and work in local senior care facilities. Also, small group discussions were held with local ministers in Dubois and Orange County with the goal of bringing forth ideas of how Springs Valley can help communities in which we serve.
