“J. Craig Buse Recognized as 20 under 40 with Banking Exchange Magazine

J. Craig Buse Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer with Springs Valley, was recently recognized as 20 Under 40 with Banking Exchange magazine. Individuals receiving a 20 Under 40 award demonstrated that they have made a difference to their organization and their community and have a vision for the future of their financial institution and for banking. 

Joining Springs Valley in 2002, Craig has held several positions during his time at the Bank, with his most recent position that of Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Information Technology from Capella University. He is a 2012 graduate from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. Craig completed the Dubois County Leadership Academy in 2011 and was awarded the Independent Community Bankers “Rising Star” Award in 2009. He is the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Jasper, board member of Indiana Bankers Future Leadership Development and member of the Northwood Good Samaritan Advisory Board.

“Craig has demonstrated solidleadership skills, which begins by not asking anyone to do something that he wouldn’t do himself,” said Jamie Shinabarger, President & CEO. “He approaches a problem by self-educating himself on the fundamentals and then brings on others in a collaborative fashion.” 

Craig is a youth sports coach for Patriot Wrestling Club and North Spencer Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer. Craig resides in Spencer County with his wife, Erika, and two children, Chase and Colton.
